16 Months
Wow, has it really been another month already? Grace continues to bring laughter to those around her. Her personality continues to develop more and more. She loves to laugh and joke.
A few highlights from this month....
One morning Rich took Grace to Miss Nancy's (her baby sitter). Rich unstrapped Grace from her car seat and Grace walked up the sidewalk to Miss Nancy's door. She stopped at the door and waited for Rich to open the door. Grace walked into Miss Nancy's turned around and said, "bye-bye" to RIch and then walked over and kissed a little boy on the cheek. This boy just so happens to be the little boy who calls her "lady" all the time too.
This month Grace was vaccinated for the flu and the H1N1. She is ready for winter.
We visited Sauder Village where Grace preferred to walk up and down the ramps with no help!
Grace's love for music continues to grow. She now prefers to sit at the piano on her own with an open music book. She looks at the book and plays the keys. She also will go over the piano and say, "B-I-, B-I" until her dad comes over to play for her. She has taken to dancing and clicking while listening to music(watch the video below). Emmy and Papaw think that she will be in the one of the front row in the Christmas pageant bouncing and clicking to "Away in a Manger."
Grace has located her "be-bo" (belly button) and if you are lucky she might just ask you where your "be-bo" is too. We are working on only looking at our own "be-bos." Grace has also learned where her head, eyes, nose, eyes, knees and toes are.
She is her mother's daughter and loves to play with her shoes. She will line them up, she will carry them around and she will point to them. Her mother's motto is, "A girl can never have enough shoes."
Grace is also a little ornery. She is not allowed to wear nightgowns to be any longer. The other night she went to bed at 8:00 with a nightgown on and when I went in to check on her at 8:45 she had pulled her diaper off and peed all over the bed. This is not the first time this has happened either. Also Grace will go to the bathroom in her pants and then go into her room and get a diaper and bring it to you and say, "p-u." I'm thinking potty training may be in our near future.
Grace is becoming very self-sufficient at the table. She will request her milk, nana, apple and hotdog. She is using a fork on her own and loves it when you clap for her after she "stabs" her food.
Grace celebrated Halloween dressed as her favorite animal a "Dawdaw." If you asked Grace what a doggy does she would respond "woof woof" or stick her tongue out to lick you. She did not quite understand the idea of taking candy from people. She preferred to share what was already in her treat basket.
For all you IU fans out there the first exhibition game is tomorrow. I thought it was today and I got Grace all geared up to surprise Rich and found out I was a day ahead. Our goal is to get Grace to do the "I-U" chant with the motions by the end of the season. Go Hoosiers!
Until next month...
