Back to School

Please ignore the need for a bangs trimming.

School is back in session and Grace's first words after her first day were, "I love my friends, I love my classroom, I love my teacher, I LOVE SCHOOL!"  She is every teacher's dream.  This year marks Grace's last year of preschool and then she will be headed to Lincoln every morning with mom.  At Back to School Night the preschool director told the parents that Junior Kindergarten is a year of independence for the kids.  Independence for themselves and independence from their parents.  Grace is now responsible for getting her journal to and from school without the help of parents or teachers.  She is also responsible for letting mom and dad know what is going on at school.  The school calendar will not be as detailed.  If we have questions about school we should first ask Grace because if Grace is listening at school she should be able to tell us.  Also she nows has to think up things for show and tell like; something that helps you stay healthy, something that comes from the sea, an example of a landform, etc.  I am not concerned that Grace won't excel at school I am concerned about where the time has gone.  I swear it seems like yesterday we were dropping this little girl off for her first day of preschool.

And now she has become a BIG girl.  

We are all excited to see what Junior Kindergarten has in store!
